Auburn, Ala. -- The American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) is considering a name change to include the word "veterinarian."

A decision could come at the Aug. 21 business meeting at AABP's 43rd annual conference in Albequerque, N.M., according to spokesperson Katie O'Neil. "It requires a bylaws change to be voted on," she says.

The AABP was incorporated as a not-for-profit group for bovine veterinarians in 1965 under its current name.
