Positive Salmonella test by FDA triggers latest veterinary pet food recall

Cincinnati -- Concerns about possible Salmonella contamination pushed Procter & Gamble to voluntarily recall two lots of an Iams veterinary formula of cat food.

The affected shipments of 5.5-pound bags of Veterinary Formulas: Feline Renal have lot codes 01384174B4 or 013B4174B2.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified a positive result in a random sample from those lot codes, but no related cases of Salmonella infection have been reported in humans or animals.
