LEXINGTON, KY.—The american association of equine practitioners (aaep) will host its annual conference december 4 - 8, in denver, with an
international group of equine veterinarians for the organization's 50th anniversary.

The convention will offer scientific sessions, professional development seminars and hands-on workshops for veterinarians,
veterinary students and technicians.
Topics will include reproduction, sports medicine, surgery and therapeutics.
The Frank J. Milne lecture sponsored by the AAEP Foundation, Inc, will be delivered by Peter D. Rossdale, OBE, MA, Ph.D, Dr.
Edinburgh, EESM, FACVSc, FRCVS, who will highlight the influence of intra-uterine development on the immediate and long-term
clinical consequences for the individual in his speech, "The Maladjusted Foal: Influences of Intrauterine Growth Retardation
and Birth Trauma."
Rick Pitino, head coach of the University of Louisville's mens' basketball team, as well as a best-selling author and racehorse
owner, will deliver the convention's keynote speech. The AAEP will also sponsor Horseman's Day in conjunction with the convention
on December 5. This day will include five veterinary experts presenting health-care information designed for the horse owner
and caregiver. Topics include equine dentistry, preventive care strategies, care of the neonatal foal, parasite control and
equine endocrinology.
A trade show will also take place on Horseman's Day that will include many of AAEP's education and alliance partners.
Convention attendees will also have the option of attending a trade show that will include more than 300 exhibitors offering
equipment, supplies and services to the veterinarian.
