A lethal strain of the virus was identified at a Felton-Frederica area farm after a horse showing neurological symptoms had to be euthanized in early January, says State Veterinarian Sara Busch.

Sixteen other horses, comprised of five from the source farm, two in Maryland and nine at five other farms under quarantine in Delaware, have been identified as horses of interest and are being tested and monitored.
