Veterinarians, producers launch online beef and dairy training program

National Report -- A new online tool has been made available to stakeholders beef and dairy industries to help quickly disseminate new information about animal care and food safety practices.

The Animal Care Training program is managed by the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State University and was created through a collaboration between the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, American Association of Bovine Practitioners, Livestock Marketing Association and the Beef Cattle Institute.

The program offers web-based training on a variety of topics concerning animal husbandry, animal welfare, environmental stewardship and food-safety practices.

The streaming multimedia training tools on the site are offered in English and Spanish and gear toward beef and dairy producers, animal transporters, livestock auction market employees and bovine veterinarians.
