CHARLESTON, W.V. — A new bill in West Virginia is seeking to exempt veterinary medications from consumer sales and service taxes.

Senate Bill 128, introduced on Jan. 11, would exempt the sales of medications prescribed by a veterinarian for the treatment and care of animals from state sales taxes.

The bill is now being considered by the Senate Agricultural Committee.
