COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — Three candidates are on the short list to replace Richard Adams, DVM, PhD, as dean of Texas A&M University's College of
Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Adams, dean for 11 years, plans to return to teaching in January, but his departure as dean will depend on the person selected
and when they can begin, the university says.
The three candidates to be interviewed are Dr. Robert J. Washabau, Dr. Michael D. Lairmore and Dr. Eleanor M. Green.
Washabau, VMD, PhD, is professor of medicine and chairs the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences among other roles at
the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Lairmore, DVM, PhD, is professor and chair of the Department of Veterinary Biosciences among other roles at The Ohio State
University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Green, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, Dipl. ABVP, is professor and chair of the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and chief
of staff of the large-animal teaching hospital at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
There was no word at press time when the new dean would be named.
