ACVS elects officers, names new treasurer at symposium
Last year's president-elect, Stephen B. Adams, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVS, was installed as president for 2009-2010. The outgoing president, Steven C. Budsberg, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVS, becomes chair of the Board of Regents. Bjorling will move to president for 2010-2011. The president-elect, president and board chair each serve one-year terms. The new large-animal regent is P.O. Eric Mueller, DVM, Dipl. ACVS, of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine; and the new small-animal regent is Richard Walshaw, BVMS, Dipl. ACVS, Animal Cancer & Imaging Center, Canton, Mich. C. Collins "Andy" Anderson, DVM, MBA, South Texas Veterinary Specialists in San Antonio, was appointed treasurer, replacing Robert A. Taylor, DVM, MS, who retired this year as treasurer after 15 years. The ACVS Foundation, an independently chartered philanthropic organization, also announced the appointment of two new trustees -- Sara A. Colopy, DVM, Dipl. ACVS, of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine; and Jon F. Dee, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVS, a practitioner in Hollywood, Fla. Dee will work on improving emeritus diplomate programs, and Colopy, who became a diplomate this year, will help initiate and optimize programs geared to new diplomates. |
