Arkansas officials clarify sales tax rules for veterinarians
A proposal is in the works by the Arkansas finance department to make retail sales of items at a veterinary clinic taxable. Veterinary services and boarding as part of medical treatment are currently tax-exempt, so are medications prescribed by the veterinarian. The state promises to make the final rules available to veterinarians through the Arkansas VMA. The written guidelines are aimed at helping practitioners make sure they are in compliance with any changes to the state’s tax rules. |
