DVM360 MAGAZINE

Rockville, Md. — Primal Pet Foods recalled its Feline Chicken & Salmon foods because of possible Salmonella contamination, reports FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the recall is limited to product with the “best by” code of 043112-17, sold in 4-pound packages. The “best by” code can be found on the right side of the product label. The affected product was sold in retail stores throughout the United States, FDA says.

Customers can contact Primal Pet Foods directly with any questions at (866) 566-4652. Unopened packages of the recalled food can be returned to local retailers for a full refund or replacement.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall, FDA reports.
