HARTFORD, CONN. — State lawmakers are eyeing legislation that would require veterinarians to screen patients for potential drug therapy problems
before prescribing medications.
The state's legislation mandates veterinarians provide animal owners with information about the properties, dosage and administration
of any prescribed drugs.
The legislation aims to "require veterinarians to take precautionary measures when prescribing drugs for animals." The legislation
has been referred to the House of Representatives' Committee on Public Health.
