Cornell students organize zoonotics symposium

Ithaca, N.Y. -- The College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University will host a Zoonotic Diseases Symposium Feb. 6-8, and the featured speaker will be DVM Lonnie King, director of the National Center for Zoonotic, Vector-Borne and Enteric Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
King also served as the first director of the CDC's Office of Strategy and Innovation and worked for 20 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The symposium, organized by Cornell veterinary students but open to all students in various health profession programs, could become an annual event, according to the college.
