Stillwater, Okla. - The only full-service, 24-hour small-animal critical care center in Oklahoma recently got a $1 million helping hand.

Bill and Sallie Morris of Lubbock, Texas, donated to the Oklahoma State University Foundation a $1 million life insurance gift that will fund the emergency facility's immediate needs.

OSU's Center for Veterinary Health Sciences' Small Animal Critical Care Unit provides care to about 8,000 animals per year and serves as a training facility for veterinary students.

The Morrises also established a $1,000 scholarship for an incoming veterinary student at the schools, and are building a dog rescue facility on their Lubbock farm that will house up to 350 animals.
