A UC-Davis alumnus, Weber specializes in treating fish, amphibians, birds, marine mammals, reptiles and aquatic invertebrates that live in fresh, salt or brackish water. He visits many of his California clients at aquaculture farms, retail fish operations and backyard ponds.

“Many of our fish cases are local, but because veterinarians who specialize in fish are fairly uncommon, some patients have come from the eastern United States, Hawaii and even Japan,” Weber says.

The aquatic-animal team offers a variety of services, including water testing, physical examinations, parasitology, surgery, endoscopy, skin and scale scrapings, laboratory cultures, viral diagnostics, X-rays, ultrasound, CT and MRI scans and necropsies.

The UC-Davis veterinary school’s fish-health group has made discoveries about koi, sport fish and wild fish health, along with new testing methods to prevent fish diseases.
