MAF to provide $13 million for animal-health research over 3 years
The funded work at more than 60 veterinary colleges, zoos and research centers includes more than 50 canine studies, 42 wildlife studies, 24 feline studies, 17 equine studies and six studies to benefit llamas and alpacas. Part of the $13 million will be used in short-term grants to more than 60 students interested in animal health in the Veterinary Student Scholars program. Participants will work with mentors on projects that could entice them into careers in veterinary research. |
