Jones earned her DVM degree from North Carolina State University in 1993 and has owned the Lenoir Veterinary Hospital for about the last 10 years with her husband, Dan Jones, DVM. She is a member of the Blue Ridge Horseman’s Association, has served on the board of health in Caldwell County, and the American Business Women’s Association named her Woman of the Year. She is a trustee at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute and works with the March of Dimes. Politically, Jones was chair of the Caldwell County Democratic Party from 2007 to 2009 and secretary of the group from 2005 to 2009. This is her first attempt at running for public office.
