Oklahoma City to donate cadavers to vet school
A spokesperson said the city is simply redirecting cadavers from the landfill to the school, and that no animals would be euthanized to help the school. At the same time, the number of euthanized animals may drop at the shelter, thanks to a $600,000 gift from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). The grant is to help the shelter become a so-called “no-kill” shelter by instead funding more adoptions, transfering animals to other adoption agencies and improving returns of lost pets to owners.
