USDA recalls several meat and poultry products that missed inspection
The recalled products were made by Vatran’s Fine Foods between March and October 2009 and distributed to retailers in the San Joaquin Valley area in California. A retail distribution list will be posted on the USDA’s Web site once it becomes available. Some of the products include Vatran’s Brand and Montibella Sausage Company brand sausages. USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) discovered the problem internally and have not received any reports of illness due to consumption of the affected products. Questions about the recall can be directed to Vatran’s Fine Foods Plant Manager Peter Vatran at (209) 833-7755. |
