Knoxville, Tenn. -- A veterinary school administrator at the University of Tennessee (UT) has been named the new executive director of the UT Space Institute.
Dr. Robert "Buddy" Moore, associate dean for research and graduate programs at UT's College of Veterinary Medicine in Nashville begins his new position today. Moore came to UT in 1981 as an assistant professor of microbiology and later served as the head of the department of microbiology. In 2001, he assumed his associate dean position and directs the Center of Excellence in Livestock Diseases and Human Health and Comparative and Experimental Medicine (CEM) Graduate Program, a joint program of the college and the UT Health Science Center's Graduate School of Medicine.
Dr. Stephen Corda, who has been serving as interim vice president and chief operating officer will resume his faculty and research position at the space institute.
