Horses with recurrent airway obstruction may no longer have to suffer following Food and Drug Administration approval of a specially designed equine inhaler with medication.

Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica has received the approval for Torpex, which uses albuterol sulfate combined with an equine-specific metered dose inhaler developed by 3m.

The device is expected to be on the market later this spring.
