FFA awards two AVMA scholarships

Schaumburg, Ill. -- Two future food-animal veterinarians were awarded scholarships from the Future Farmers of America.

The $1,000 scholarships were made available through the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) from FFA.

Alyzabeth Looney, of Denton, Texas will attend Texas A&M University and Megan Westerhold of Rich Hill, Mo. will be going to he University of Missouri-Columbia . Both students intend to use the scholarship money to pursue an undergraduate and veterinary degrees. AVMA reports this is the second year it has sponsored scholarships to aspiring veterinarians through FFA.
