Kansas veterinary board amends standards

TOPEKA, KAN. —The Kansas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners recently amended minimum standards for veterinary practices.

The new board regulations cover areas like storage and organization, cleanliness, issuance of health certificates, conflicts of interest, patient records, employee supervision, drug handling, anesthesia services and pain management.

The new regulations were published Dec. 5, 2011, and went into effect Jan. 20.
