Thirty-six proposals were submitted to the foundation for the 2009 grants, and 12 grants totaling $127,411 were awarded.
All types of feline studies are acceptable, and the foundation says it is particularly interested in projects that address individual breeds.
The maximum grant is $15,000. Applicants may be faculty veterinarians, post-doctoral fellows, practicing veterinarians or veterinary students. The deadline to apply is Dec. 14, and award winners will be announced in March 2010.
