Novartis Animal Health recently revealed the results from its Pet Allergy Worldwide Survey (PAWS) report, which showed that almost half (44 percent) of pet owners are unaware that their pets can suffer from allergies, particularly during the human allergy season.

Although pet allergies can manifest throughout the year, the spring season—with its onset of pollens and other environmental allergens—can be particularly difficult for pets that suffer from allergies, the company says. But the survey shows that 51 percent of pet owners didn’t realize their pets’ allergies were more likely to flare up during this time of year, a time when human allergy sufferers are also most often affected.
