College Park, Md. -- A new collaboration between the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and the United States Animal Health Association (USAHA) will offer mentoring, education and networking opportunities for veterinarians and veterinary students.
The initiative is the college’s response to increased demands for veterinarians in the public sector. The center will expand its activities in the areas of public health, public policy, international veterinary medicine, organizational leadership, and the One Health Initiative, according to the school’s Web site. The center will work with the USAHA to identify opportunities for veterinary student involvement with USAHA member organizations and agencies to provide increased training, learning, networking, mentoring and potential future employment.
