The American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) has renamed and revamped its annual veterinary surgical conference. The ACVS Surgery Summit (previously the ACVS Veterinary Symposium) more strongly reflects the conference’s attendee demographics, educational and networking opportunities, and appealing destinations, ACVS leaders say.

This year the ACVS Surgery Summit will be held Oct. 15-18 in San Diego and is open to all veterinarians, veterinary technicians, practice staff and students interested in improving the management of surgical patients in their care.

“The name ‘ACVS Veterinary Symposium’ has not adequately represented the scope, breadth and absolute commitment to delivering the highest level of continuing education,” says Nathaniel A. White II, DVM, MS, DACVS, director of continuing education for ACVS. “The ACVS Surgery Summit highlights the focus of the meeting, so veterinarians know it is ... where the best surgical and allied medicine continuing education is presented.”

During the summit, veterinary surgeons will present seminars, hands-on laboratories and panel discussions, providing attendees with up to 360 continuing education hours. For more information, visit acvssurgerysummit.org.
