Pullman, Wash. -- The Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine approved a deal to open a new satellite clinic in Spokane next year.

The clinic will be at the college's Riverpoint campus and its development and operation will be funded in part by $3.5 million private gifts. The school's Board of Regents approved a $1.75 million construction budget for the clinic in January, which will involve the renovation of an existing 7,000-square-foot building owned by the college.

The space can accommodate four to six contract veterinarians, plus two surgery suites. The clinic will be outpatient only, according to the school.
