Madison, Wis. -- The Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine Large Animal Hospital now can offer laser surgery to equine patients thanks to the acquisition of carbon dioxide and diode laser surgery instrumentation.

The laser surgery can be used to treat upper respiratory, urogenital, muscoskeletal and skin problems. Laser surgery is minimally invasive and can result in less complications than traditional surgery, according to the school.

Horse owners interested in the surgery or veterinarians interested in referrals should contact the college's Large Animal Hospital at 608-263-7600.
