Lexington, Ky. -- Officials at the 2010 World Equestrian Games have selected Hagyard Equine Medical Institute's Jennifer Feiner, VMD, as the event's quarantine veterinarian.

Feiner will be responsible for maintaining protocols from the United States Department of Agriculture. She'll watch unloading of horses from planes, monitor horses in quarantine, and check disease status during the games.

This isn't the first time in sports quarantine work for Feiner, who works mostly with high-performance sport horses. She assisted with equine quarantine at Olympic events in Hong Kong in 2008.

The games will be held Sept. 25 to Oct. 10.
